My teaching interests, as reflected in the courses I have taught at the School of Arts at the Hebrew University and the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, cover a range of topics: the relations between Performance, Theater, Visual Arts, Public Space and Activism; Folklore, Art Politics and Social Engagement.
In my courses, I usually combine a participatory learning approach, the use of media, field work, oral history, archival work, and frontal teaching. I expect the students to generate and discover unexpected connections to and among the topics of the course, and encourage them to engage in thinking about the learning materials from their own personal experience and perspective. I stress the way the students perform their knowledge and possible ways of sharing their own and others’ knowledge, and emphasize the development of personal tools and original, critical thinking.
